The Gunners' boss remains confident that his side can persist in handling with fitness issues after disclosing that star striker Kai Havertz is not ready for the coming weeks.

Prolonged Recovery for German Star

Havertz has been sidelined for months following knee surgery. Originally slated to return earlier in December, the manager stated the player encountered a problem when increasing his training and failed to reach “the required stage.”

“We took lessons, and managed to assemble a squad that is considerably steadier and has greater depth,” stated the manager.

Selection Dilemma for Midweek Fixture

This development creates a tactical puzzle for Wednesday’s fixture at the Emirates against Brentford. Arteta must choose between continuing to use Mikel Merino, who found the net playing out of position against Chelsea, or bringing back Viktor Gyökeres, who featured briefly from a muscle injury off the bench. Veteran striker Gabriel Jesus is in contention after 11 months out.

Defensive Concerns Remain
