Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice

The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.

The organization did not mention Rice by name in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Allegations Shared on Social Media

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, shared a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Reportedly Not on File

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have taken place.

Player's Recent Legal Issues

Rice missed the initial part of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.

On the field, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
