Hulu is Developing a Popular Game TV Series from the Creators of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The latest action-packed instalment that players explored was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for celebrating chaos and mayhem with equal glee, all while presenting gripping, ideologically themed tales. It’s no surprise that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two visionaries whose projects have represented all of those elements.

What to Expect

Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' format by having a fresh backdrop and group of personalities in each season.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as showrunners on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is innovative, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this beloved property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also appear in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently greenlit for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new long-term contract with the creator.

“Having the opportunity together with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And along the way, my FX team constantly supports me with their steady belief and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an standalone series. Every instalment is a interpretation of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a premise,” said Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can shift from year to year, while always examining the nature of society through this multifaceted and unpredictable lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to work with Rob and present our mutual bold, ambitious approach to the television.”

A schedule for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
